This week, I’ll be heading home to enjoy a delish dinner with the parents and some quality time with my family. Then after another family dinner with the in-laws on Saturday, we’re off to visit my BFF and her new hubby. Last year we went to our first NFL game in Buffalo this same weekend and had a blast. We decided we wanted to make it a tradition – complete with tailgate-fun and all. But we were having a tough time getting tickets. Then one random day, my friend’s hubby came through with some sweet seats on the fifty yard line. Now, I’m not a big sports fan, but I know enough about the game to understand what’s happening. For me, I’m more excited to spend a couple of days with my best friend. We could seriously read the phone book out loud and still have a great time.
After this fun-filled couple of days, I start the new job. Then the following weekend, the laughter continues as my hubby and I head to see comedienne Chelsea Handler Live. For those of you who don’t know who this funny lady is, you should definitely check her out. Her late-night show on E! has me in stitches. We turn television when we’re going to sleep and sometimes I find myself laughing out loud at her jokes. We’ve always said if she ever came out to our neck of the woods, we’d be there in a heartbeat. The show is about 3 hours away but we’re making a weekend of it and going to enjoy some personal time as well.
The fun doesn’t stop here though! The following weekend, my BFF and I are heading away for a girls night away in a quaint little town about halfway between both of our homes. This once again is something we are trying to do on an annual basis. Last year we took our “girls trip” in October but with her wedding we had to push it back a little. We stay the night in a hotel, enjoy some yummy dinner and then spend the next day shopping or maybe even a little spa action. Since we live about 2 hours from each other, it’s nice to plan things like this.
In between all my adventures, I must also make time for Christmas shopping. I’ve already gotten a few gifts and I have a list of what I want to get. I’m sure I’ll check out some sales on Black Friday and maybe even surf the web for some deals. I love buying presents for people and finding ways to get the most “bang for my buck” so to speak. Despite all that is going on, Christmastime is definitely one of my favorite times. As the song goes…it’s the most wonderful time of the year. This year, I really want to make it extra special and try to really enjoy the chaos instead of getting caught up in it!
Until next time,
Fabulous KT
