After a wonderful weekend filled with football and friends (the Bills won!), this week has proved to be a great start in the journey toward getting back to my fabulous self. I started my increased role and my part-time job at the community college library on Tuesday and love it. While I’ve been doing the reference work a couple of nights a week here already, there is definitely a different feeling associated with being here every day during the crunch of the day. Adding to the excitement (for me, probably not so much the students), is the fact that it is final paper time so lots of time is spent in the library. I know I sound a bit of a nerd when I say this but I am really excited to spend my day in the library helping students to find what they need to make their papers a success. I think this is going to be a positive change.
In other news, I’ve also begun one of my favorite holiday activities – decking the halls with holiday cheer.

I love decorating for all holidays – especially Christmas! Right after Thanksgiving, my hubby and I strung lights outside and then it was time to tackle inside. Since we get a real tree, the tree has yet to be put up. But we hope to pick our tree sometime next week and decorate next weekend (after my fabulous girls’ weekend with my BFF!) I know this sounds silly; my favorite decoration besides the tree is the holiday shower curtain in our guest bathroom. This is the one bathroom that everyone uses, so I think it’s nice to spread the holiday cheer even in the powder room. I seem to add a few new decorations each year. I usually try to wait until after the holidays for the sales to catch some good deals. However, this year I may have to splurge and buy a new runner and centerpiece for our dining room table. Once all the decorating is complete, I think I’ll post some pictures and you can let me know what you think.
This weekend, we are off again for another fun-filled adventure to see our favorite comedienne Chelsea Handler. The show is about three hours away so we are going to drive out for the night and stay in a nice hotel. It is sort of an early Christmas present for each other. As I’ve mentioned before Chelsea is so funny, I am certain this is going to be a great show.
On that note, I will leave you with a quote I rediscovered this week by Theodore Roosevelt,
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." This really sums up where I am right now in my life. You can’t always change the situation you are in, you just have to make the best of what you do have.
Until next time,
Fabulous KT
