Live life to the fullest...

The weather is starting to turn and it has been a cold few days, but I am still sticking to my quest to be more positive. Last weekend, I had a fabulous time looking for bridal/bridesmaid dresses with my sassy sis, while she didn’t find the dress of her dreams; I think she has an idea of what she might want. As for the bridesmaids, I am happy to report, that the dress she picked looked great and I loved it. It is going to be a beautiful wedding and I am so excited to be a part of it! My BFF’s wedding is in just 17 days so I am getting super pumped for that as well. Not only I am excited for her big day, my hubby and I will be taking three whole days off from work to celebrate! It will be nice to relax and enjoy – even during the craziness of a wedding weekend.
In other news this week, my hubby is fighting off some fierce sickness. He isn’t stuffy or achy but super tired. He actually took the day off today and has spent most of it sleeping on the couch. We both actually took a nap today and boy, did it feel good. I think we both need to start relaxing more and stressing less. On Tuesday evening, I had to attend the calling hour services for a young woman whose life was cut short by cystic fibrosis. She had grown up down the street from my husband and then married one of my brother-in-laws best friends. I don’t think I had ever really talked to the girl, but went to the service out of respect and to accompany my husband. I was overwhelmed by the impact this 32-year-old woman had on so many people. We were in line for nearly 4 hours. There were friends, family, former students (she was a math teacher), colleagues and others like myself who were there with others. Although she was fighting a life-long battle for her health, everyone said her quest for life and happiness was contagious. In every picture, she was smiling and everyone said she always wanted to help others. It really made me think about my own life. Sometimes life goes too quickly, we get caught up in the negative that we may be missing all the beauty. This woman’s life, although tragically cut short, really reminded me that there’s more to life than a job or having money. It’s really about being happy and living each day to the fullest. I was reminded of a quote I once read by Gahndi; “Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony.” It’s nice to be reminded of the goodness we have within. Sometimes life gets crazy but you can’t let that craziness destroy your being. Be happy, we only get to go around this crazy world once -- so make it count.
Until next time,
Fabulous KT
