After a very busy week, this weekend was a total blast celebrating the upcoming nuptials of my BFF and her guy. As the maid of honor (I prefer this term to matron of honor as I am still young and fun, just married too), it was my duty to throw her a shower and of course an amazing bachelorette party (more about the latter, later). Her future in-laws also gave her a shower so my shower was more for the bride’s family and friends. The MOB and I decided to have the shower at a local restaurant that the bride practically lived at during her teen years. She was a waitress, hostess and even babysat for the owners. The food was a nice brunch mix of French toast and muffins, fresh fruit and a few savory items as well. While I am not much on showers in general, this party, in my humble opinion, was just the right amount of traditional fun with games and gifts and modern flair with a signature picture board and a few mimosas for the bride. My BFF seemed to enjoy herself and the guests as well.
Later that night, the real fun was about to begin! My BFF loves a good party. She loves to dance, laugh and just enjoy life. That is probably why she is my BFF, no matter the situation, she is the one person who can make me laugh and forget about the stresses of life for a while. This being said, I knew her party needed to be first rate. Her sister booked the limo and I made some fab bachelorette party shirts for all our girls. Our bride was decked out in a tiara, sash and her own bride to be shirt. We hit up some local bars, all of which had either a DJ or live music and we danced and laughed the night away. Seriously I don’t think I’ve smiled this much in a very long time! While my feet may be tired from dancing and my face may hurt from laughing, this was a wedding weekend, I am sure not to forget for a long time.
Until next time,
Fabulous KT
