Back to the blog!

So after a few month hiatus, I'mmmm baaaccck! The new business opportunity/work schedule has really taken its toll on my free time. But now that I'm back to my librarian gig at the college, I have a few more computer minutes to share. I'm still working 7 days a week but have a few more "me" moments and am ready to enjoy. My sis has been on me to update for weeks so I figured my first post back, I'd post a little game, she tagged me for me back on July 1. So thanks Sassy for tagging me in the Honest Scrap game where I am to list 10 honest things about myself. Here it goes....
1. My favorite food is peanut butter. I love it on just about anything...apples, bananas, chocolate, ice cream... I try to act like I don't love it but I do!

2. In a few six months, I'll turn the big 3-0. I'm not so much worried about the number but starting to look older – i.e. wrinkles, grey hair, muffin tops, saddlebags, etc. etc.

3. I really don’t like animals. I know a lot of people would hate me for this. I don’t wish harm on any animals but I’m just not a pet-friendly kind of girl. Dogs and cats gross me out and farm animals, well they just are too much for me.

4. I love to travel – but pretty much only to warm weather destinations. I’ve been to Mexico (a few times), the Bahamas (twice), St. Lucia (for my honeymoon), St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, California, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. Someday I’d like to visit all of the Caribbean islands and all the 50 states.

5. I am constantly stressed about time and money – two things there never seems to be enough of and that I really don’t have too much control over. I try not to worry but sometimes that tough.

6. Speaking of worrying, I am a worry rat. I worry about EVERYTHING. It’s just in my nature to care a little too much about everything.

7. A lifetime goal is to become a successful author. I’ve won a few awards for my journalism skills but wish I could find a way (i.e. time and money) to use my writing skills in a way that would really touch the world.

8. Although I don’t necessarily regret my choices in life, I often think about what life would have been like if I had chose the other door. Would I still be living the life I have or would I be an entirely different woman?

9. I love to dress up, wear heels, go shopping and be girly in just about every way but I think there is too much focus on body shapes and being thin that we often lose sight of what matters most – being a good person.

10. My mom is who I look up to the most. She is smart and beautiful; independent yet loving; wise yet fun. She embodies everything that I hope to one day become. She is the strongest woman I know and who I turn to when life gets hard. I think everyone need s a woman like my mama in their life.

Okay, for more about my summer or how I squeezed in some fun time with a 50 to 60 hours work week, check back. Updates coming very soon!!!
