Catch up Tuesday … Days 3-5

Sorry for the delay. I was too busy having a fabulous weekend and crappy Monday to post. In short, the weekend included spending time with my sassy sister who is visiting from Texas where she moved right after her wedding, shopping, hair appointment and waterpark. Monday = bad day. At 5:30 after a long day, I went out to leave work and yup, my car wouldn't start. Its just what you don’t want to happen. Oh well, new battery now and we’re back in business. On to more fun things…

Day 3-your favorite television program

Since I can’t seem to limit to just one favorite anything, here is another top five:

1. Glee

2. One Tree Hill

3. Grey’s Anatomy

4. So you think you can dance

5. American Idol

Day 4- your favorite book

Really? I am a librarian. I could write a million posts about the books I love the most. But I will try to limit it to five again. Honestly, this list could change daily but these are a few that have stuck with me.

(If you are looking for interesting reads, let me know. I’d love to suggest!)

1. Catcher in the Rye, JD Salinger

2. To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee

3. Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert

4. In her Shoes, Jennifer Weiner

5. Circle of Friends, Maeve Binchy

Day 5-your favorite quote

Even though, I could go on and on about quotes I love and am always finding new quotes. I do have one favorite that I’ve liked for a long time. It has been attributed to many different authors but I’m going to go with honest Abe.

“It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.” ~Abraham Lincoln

30 days of Blogging- Day 2

Day 2 -- Favorite Movie(s)

Already two days into this project and I am already learning I do not have one favorite anything. Once again, there are lots of movies I love. My top five pics are:

There are lots of movies I've watched that are higher quality, better done and beautifully shot but for me, my favorites always make me smile and laugh -- the best ingredients for a good time!

Until tomorrow,

30 Days of Blogging - Day 1

My favorite song(s)!

When it comes to favorites, I am not very good at narrowing it down. One day my favorite may be a random rap or the next a new country song. I have a very eclectic style when it comes to music. Instead of narrowing it down to one, I’ll give you a list of ten favorites (in no particular order of course!) As a side note, I have a feeling this might be the case for many items on this 30-day project as favorites are tough for me to limit to just one!

  1. Gray Street, DMB
  2. Wonderful Tonight, Eric Clapton
  3. Stay, Sugarland
  4. Don’t Stop Believing, Journey
  5. Fairy Tale, Sara Bareilles
  6. First Cut is the Deepest, Sheryl Crow
  7. Long way to Happy, Pink
  8. Anything but Mine, Kenny Chesney
  9. Like a Friend, Pulp
  10. When you say nothing at all, Alison Krauss

Until next time,
Fabulous KT

A great summer!

So another two months has gone by and I once again have failed to stay up on my blog. This lapse, however, isn’t because I haven’t been inspired but rather that I’ve been super duper busy but in a super duper good way. The new job is fabulous! Everyday I am excited to go to work (yes, I know how silly this sound) but I am really enjoying what I do and FINALLY feeling like I made the right decision to become a librarian. The library is really busy and my co-workers are all very friendly. I am still definitely adjusting to a new locale but overall, things on the job front are right where they have needed to be for a while.

On the personal side, summer is still extra crazy for the hubby. He works 60 to70 hours a week and only has one day off. Boo! Not fun, right. But we are managing. I’ve been staying busy with lots of fun celebrations all summer long including 30th birthdays, wine tours, bbqs, reunions with college friends, etc. We also celebrated our 4th anniversary at the beginning of the month. Yay for fun times with good friends, family and lots of laughter!

I have been on a decorating kick this summer too. I’ve updated my guest bathroom, new bedding for our master and new lampshades for the living room. We’ve also done some “arts and crafts” projects that have added new life to some older pieces. We covered our kitchen chairs with a fun pattern. What used to be plain with red leather and wood, is now a burst of energy with geometric shaped pattern.

Also an old bookshelf that has traveled from my parent’s house to my apartment to my sister’s apartment and now backs to my house is now a great new addition to our guest room. A fresh coat of paint and the shelf has a totally new style.

I’ve got a few more ideas for updates throughout the house that hopefully I can accomplish this fall. Hopefully, my next post will come before the snow does.

Until next time,
Fabulous KT

How things can change....

So once again, my blogging has taken a short break due to the craziness of life. When I last wrote, my job at the college was in question due to budget issues and I was planning to do some part-time non-librarian work. However, a fabulous new position at a public library I'd been trying to get into for the past two years opened up and I was offered the position!!! I had worked there on a substitute/part-time basis so I was super excited to get into a real librarian position with full-time hours and benefits. I am only a week and a half into training but can already tell this is going to be great!! I know I may sound a bit like a nerd but the duties of the job are actually interesting and I feel invigorated to go to work. I know its still early in the game but I think this may be heading toward a happy place for me!!!

In other events, my little sister is now a Mrs. Her wedding was beautiful and the wedding events were amazing. Her dress was gorgeous and the venue was fabulous. I performed my matron of honor (or as I prefer, married maid of honor) duties with little problem. I read two passages in church and didn't flub up and my speech was a hit. On the plus side, I was also compared to a greek goddess at several points throughout the night so my dress/hair must have been working. LOL

I'll try to post some pictures too in the coming weeks of past fun events. I've also been working on some small home-improvement projects I'd like to share. And last but certainly not least, I am still very much committed to my happiness project. I have kept up on the being more active and getting better sleep goals -- even throughout the crazy changes in my life. I'm still working on the improving my marriage parts but I am ready to tackle a new goal for July.

For now, I am enjoying the new gig and looking forward to enjoying my favorite time of year!Summer in Upstate NY is beautiful and I can't wait to get out and enjoy it. Perhaps some small hiking adventures and for sure some pool time. So sorry for the lapse in my posts but hopefully things are heading in a good direction. I have a feeling they might be...

Until next time,

Fabulous KT
