Amazing musical experience
Last Monday, as I mentioned in my earlier post, my sis and I went to a Sara Bareilles show at a local casino. Without being over dramatic -- this was definately one the best live shows I've seen in a while. Her vocal talent and piano skills were suberb and her witty banter made me feel like we could be friends. :) Usually when I go to a show, I am the girl who knows all the songs and is singing right along. But for this show, a lot of the tunes were new to me which kind of added to the show. I was really listening to the lyrics not just watching the performance. Her cover of a U2 classic, Still haven't found what I'm looking for and, Rhianna's Umbrella were really unique. But her original pieces were even more amazing. Some songs to check out,Fairytale (my absolute fave!), Gravity (a very close second), Vegas and Many the Miles. Okay, I loved them all really!! If she's ever in your neighborhood, it's definately worth the ticket price.

Ideas please!
So it's time for me to start thinking about birthday present ideas for the hubby. His big day is the 27th and I've been thinking for a while. Trying to be fiscally responsible, I'm looking for something that is reasonably priced yet still sentimental and fun. My hubby is a fairly practical guy and loves something he can "use" verses something extra "sweet". I usually try to get something that combines both. However, this year, I'm having an extra tough time. Any ideas?
Thanks for the help!

This week: concert plus book discussion = Fabulous Fun

After a very busy few weeks of filling in at my part-time librarian gig AND working at my full-time position, I am super excited about this weeks fun festivities. For starters, on Monday, my sis and I are off to see Sara Barielles in concert. I am a sucker for any type of live show and can't wait to see this very talanted performer. This is just the start of what I like to refer to as my concert season. Each summer, I seem to catch more and more live shows. In addition to Monday's concert, I've also scored tickets to see the Dave Matthews Band (for the 4th or 5th time) and Kelly Clarkson. As with most of my taste, I love an eclectic blend of music and entertainment. Case in point, next week, my hubby and I will be catching a traveling theatre league's performance of Annie -- one of my favorite musicals of all time. Rock on! :)
Later this week, it's my other montly fun -- book group. This month we're reading, My Antonia by Willa Cather. While it definately isn't my normal style of book, it's pretty interesting so far and think it will definately spark some interesting discussion. As for the rest of the week, I'm just looking forward to relaxing and spending some time with the hubby. Although we are technically working at the same place, his job takes him out in the field while I am more in the office. It will be nice to spend some relaxing time together. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can take out the bikes or do some walking.
Until next time,

Dress-less in NY

So as I mentioned in my earlier posts, I spent this past Saturday on the quest for the perfect bridesmaids dress to wear in my bestest friends wedding this October. While it was simply fabulous to meet up with her, our dress search was not so much. After nearly 50 dresses and 8 dress shops later, we still are dress-less. We've got it narrowed down to a color (she loves the wine/cranberry family) and a style (long with a v-neck detail). The issue (which has always been my biggest issue) is my curves. I am a fairly average sized woman with a typical pear-shaped bottom. That means all the dresses looked great on my top half, but the bottom sides weren't always so fab. We now know, we need to focus on the a little fuller bottom. Needless to say, I was a bit frustrated when I arrived home. But after a few pep talks from the sis and mama, I'm sure we'll find a great dress soon. I'd love to see what types of dresses anyone else is planning for their big day or designers to try. Please share!
Until next time,

Stressed much?
This is has been another crazy few weeks for the Fabulous KT. The new job has me working 6 days a week and my part-time librarian gig is on my only day off. While it's slowly getting into the busy season at the new biz, I'm still adjusting to the long hours and hectic schedule. We're hoping it will all pay off in a few years. I just hope I'll survive :) LOL One of my biggest issues is finding the time to get everything done and still have a few "me" moments. I'm learning that time management takes creativity and positive thinking. My hubby always says, "don't worry, it will get done," to whatever task I'm stressing over at the moment. I'm trying to adopt his attitude and learn it's okay if everything doesn't happen when I think it should. If it needs to happen, it will. If not, don't worry, be happy! So in honor of his take on life, I'm headed away tomorrow for a night to see my bestest girl!
In this crazy world, there are only a few people who truly know and love you for you! In my case, my bestest friend, I'll simply refer to her as Liscious (as in Fabuliscious!!!) is one of those persons. After nearly 29 years of friendship, it's hard to really even capture into words the bond we share. Tomorrow I am off to visit her and Saturday to go shopping for bridesmaid dresses. She and her prince charming, who also owns a fab restaurant on the Finger Lake, will tie the knot this fall and I could not be happier for them. But truthfully, I'm pretty excited myself to get all dressed up and fancy for the big event :) After a very hectic week, I am so excited for the break and time to relax. Once we pick the gown, I try to post a pic for all to see. Hopefully we aren't talking any crazy bows or outrageous styles but hey, what are best friends for??
Until next time,

Sexy Sexy...

Thanks to That's Sassy for tagging me a "Sexy Blogger".
I have to list 5 things I think are sexy about myself and pass along to 5 other sexy bloggers!
Five sexy things about me:
1. My brain...I not ashamed to say I've got some smarts and I think a smart girl is always a sexy girl!
2. My work ethic - I'm crazy busy most of the time with three (yes, 3!!) jobs. But hard work always pays off.
3. My sense of humor -- I love to laugh and act silly and really enjoy good-humored witty banter.
4. My sing-along skills -- in my car, I am a Rock Star! hehe
5. I guess I'll end with a physical attribute, even though I'm not sure I've ever really consider myself physically "sexy"...In the words of my BFF, "the badonkadonk" or in other words my booty :)
Thanks for the tag again, my sassy sista! :) Now for my sexy blogger tags... Since I only know you in virtual reality, please accept this tag as a fun way of saying, "I like your blog" :)
